Rochester Squash Racquets Board Meeting 7 Nov. ’11

Minutes from November board meeting:
Present: Tracy Ali, Doug Bennett, Ron Cavellier, Chris Fenlon, Bill Lampeter, Mithun Mukherjee, Chip Nimick, Jack Fitzpatrick, Morgan Smith, John Walsh.

Quorum: We have a quorum
Oct. minutes: approved as submitted

Treasurer’s report: We have yet to receive an invoice from the U of R food services for the ’11 Pro/Am

Amendments to bylaws:
It is proposed that the current requirement of eight board members for a quorum at monthly meetings be changed to four. The Annual General Meeting quorum will remain at eight.
After discussion, the proposal is changed to require the establishment of a quorum based on a percentage of current board membership. The percentage proposed is 33%. There are currently 14 members, so 5 will be required.
This proposal is moved by Jack, seconded by Chris, and passed by vote.
A second proposal will allow real time participation by electronic means for purposes of voting, establishment of quorum requires physical presence at the meeting.
This was moved by Jack, seconded by Tracy, passed by vote.

Juniors: John updated us on work to develop squash programs in local schools.

Captains tournament: A city league captain’s tournament will take place in December. The goal is to work toward refereeing our city league matches.
